Specialized’s most aerodynamic gravel race bike they’ve ever created, the Crux 5 is a speed machine – inspired by the lessons of the Tarmac SL8 and decades of research in the aero discipline. Now, the Crux 5 Comp sits at the height of elite gravel racing for its unmatched speed, telepathic handling and balanced compliance to keep fatigue at bay. Sporting a Flow State Design in the FACT 10r carbon frame, it’s one of the very lightest currently on gravel, weighing in at an impressively small 897g without compromising strength and handling.
The Rider First engineering creates a bike that delivers the same unmatched performance of stiffness, compliance and handling in all sizes, including improved balance with shorter stems (in the longer size specific reach), increased confidence at speed with a slacker head angles and that “in the bike” stability that stems from a lower bottom bracket height. And, the Crux 5 Sport now has the ability to switch out the Pathfinder 700x45mm tyres for something much chunkier with tyre clearance up to 55mm whilst maintaining its effortless handling, just with better traction. Featuring the SRAM Rival AXS XPLR gravel groupset, the Comp 5 offers premium wireless shifting and hydraulic disc braking that remains reliable even in undesirable conditions.
Race day ready when speed is key, the Crux 5 Comp will turn more of your effort into pure speed with its unparalleled aerodynamics and unheard of levity – and even better, it currently delivers the lowest real-world Time to Finish of any gravel bike ever made.
Features:
- Flow State Design delivers a 897g frame - one of the very lightest on gravel
- More aerodynamic at up to 5.8 watts faster with better handling - still nimble but smoother with better traction
- Delivers telepathic handling, instantaneous acceleration and balanced compliance that reduces fatigue on the roughest courses
- Rider First engineered and now with 55 / 2.2" mm tyre clearance for unmatched traction and comfort
- Improved balance with shorter stems (longer size specific reach)
- Increased confidence at speed with a 0.5° slacker head angle
- "In the bike" stability with big tyres and a lower bottom bracket height
- More efficient power position and tyre clearance with a 0.5° steeper seat angle
- Aero Gains Breakdown: frame, fork and seatpost - 50%, Roval Terra Aero wheels - 30%, Roval Terra cockpit - 20%
- Unbound Winner Sófia Gómez Villafañe’s Time to Finish at Unbound would be 9:58 faster on the Crux 5
- SRAM RIVAL XPLR drivetrain
